Hey there,
We are in unprecedented times and the need for cultivating and maintaining every day resilience is more important than ever before. I was once a stress junkie and I’m so grateful that I’m out of that cycle of stress and able to navigate these times in a much different way to what I would have done in the past. Many of my clients are saying the same right now. They’re actively using their resilience strategies and confidently rising to the challenge of the times. It’s not too late to take charge of your own stress responses, clear your head and feel in control again.
This page is a hub for all things ‘resilience’ at Start With You – resilience strategies to support mental, emotional and physical resilience, as well as spiritual connection which strengthens all. You will find resources below that cover this whole gamut, so see what resonates for you the most right now.
I notice that if someone has been in chronic stress for a while (that is, stressed most days and most weeks) which is how I used to be, it’s not easy to face sudden a major challenge, and even when we’re through that, to look at bigger picture things like career decisions or spiritual development, because there is too much every-day stress. This means the basic foundation of your day isn’t clear and calm and strong. In this case, I suggest starting with the 7-week Online Resilience Series: Helping You Build Everyday Resilience. It helps you know where to start – because that is often the hardest thing to figure out! – and takes you step by step through the process of taking control back. Control of your mind, your emotions, your diary and your day. It will help you change how you experience you week, your work and your life.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you’d like to explore how best to build your own resilience or to discuss the best business coaching or life coaching option for you if that’s your interest.
Kia kaha. Stand Strong.

Online Resilience Series
When I created the Online Resilience Series it was designed to help busy professionals, business owners and working parents to get out of the stress cycle, be more effective at work, find more balance, and build mental and emotional resilience. These tools are now more essential than ever before given the scenario we are now in!
It’s likely you’re now working from home and whether you’re the sole breadwinner and navigating kids, mealtimes and deadlines, or a business owner making your way through this new terrain of challenges and decisions, your ability to manage yourself will make all the difference. It can help you use your energy wisely, see clearly and think creatively. It can even help you sleep better.
Often the hardest thing about being so busy or pressured and wanting to get out of it is knowing where to start. Especially when you’re already so stressed! This online programme takes that problem away because I show you where to start, and then navigate you through each step, from one week to another, at your own pace.
I will take the opportunity to give you some feedback about how I am feeling in these tough times. The work we did together last year has really helped me keep perspective on all the challenges that I am facing right now, and my stress levels are generally very low. I feel like I am being as productive as I possibly can be, and my frame of mind is helping me make good decisions (for me, and for everyone around me) in the current situation.”

Coaching with Karen
One to one coaching online via Zoom is available with Karen. Perhaps one of these scenarios best describes where you’re at? They’re all good examples of when coaching can be a great fit to help you move up and out of your current state and old patterns, and into an emerging new you.
> You’ve employed all the tools you have right now to calm your stress levels and be resourceful and they’re just not cutting it.
> The current situation is triggering old trauma from previous situations such as the previous GFC or an event such as the Australian bush fires or the Christchurch earthquake.
> You’re looking for someone to help you navigate the new terrain as a business owner or leader.
> You’ve brought your stress levels down and are ready to start re-shaping how you want your week to look like.
> You’re ready to start re-valuing what matters in life, explore new career or business possibilities or make significant changes and you’d like a guide for that.
> It’s time to really achieve that life-work balance you’ve been craving, work smarter not harder and take care of your own wellbeing.
> You’re wanting to build a stronger connection with your spiritual self at this time and/or strengthen your energetic body.
