Sometimes what you’re building can feel like it’s moving so slowly.
Perhaps you’re offering a new service within your business and it seems to be taking forever to really get going. Or maybe you’re in the midst of transitioning from a salaried job to being in your business full-time, and it feels like it’s never going to officially be time to switch over.
Something I’m often shown when I’m working with a client in this boat is that so much of where they’ve been already, and what they’re in the middle of now, is building a really solid foundation for what’s coming next.
This happened with a client this morning, who has been extremely patient about staying in her paid role, which is now down to two days a week, instead of going full-time in the business she runs with her husband. But now she’s at a point where it has been long enough, and she is more than ready to make the switch.
It was still feeling foggy, though, and she couldn’t see how to untangle herself from some of the obligations that were keeping her at her job. Within 30 minutes, we had unpacked it, cleared the fog, and she had a very clear and beautifully simple plan for how she was exiting her role and going into the business full-time within ten weeks.
One of the things I was shown was this extremely solid foundation they had built to this point. It wasn’t just the kind of foundation you would put a house on. It was nearly two feet high, made of solid brick, and very large.
This was the kind of foundation you would build a cathedral on.
I had goosebumps all over my body as I expressed this to her and described what I was being shown.
These are the moments.
It affirmed for her that they were absolutely on the right track, that it had all been worth it, and that the next step was leaning into the growth and letting things grow.
When we are right in it, it can be really hard to see the low-hanging fruit, the opportunities in front of us, and the one or two tweaks that would move us forward and make all the difference.
I have been there myself many times.
I don’t have the master key for you and your future.
But I can help you lay your hand on yours.
